Leading Lady of Islam, Mother of the Father, Batool and Leader of All women in Jannah. These and much more titles towards the most beloved daughter of our Holy prophet Muhammad SAW, Hazrat Fatima R.A
Let’s get back to 7 A.D Makkah where daughters used to keep hidden. So hidden that mostly the people of Makkah used to burry them alive. They were considered as a burden only. And a symbol of bad luck.
In that era, our Holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) had a daughter. And that too after loosing 2 sons. He was being mocked and pressurized on his only daughter and no sons. And that was the time when Allah gave him hope in form of Surah Al Kausar.
We have Reesham Naqvi with us to enlighten us more about Syeda, Batool and Chief of all women in Heaven, Hazrat Fatima (R.A).
She was Batool who was independent of world. Her bonding with our holy prophet Muhammad SAW was commendable. This father daughter love was unconditional. She was only a 6 years old baby girl when her mother Hazrat Khadija RA passed away. From that tender age, she took charge of her own responsibilities. She took care of Hazrat Muhammad SAW after Hazrat Khadija RA. This is because she realized her responsibilities at very early stage. And our prophet Muhammad SAW also involved her along in his mission of spreading Deen e Islam. This act teaches us to involve our children with us and to prepare them for every situation.
It is narrated that Hazrat Ayesha R.A once asked about Hazrat Muhammad SAW unconditional love and respect for Hazrat Fatima R.A. And our holy prophet SAW replied that if you would know the position of Fatima , you will also start loving and respecting her in similar manner.
She was the one who used to sit with Hazrat Muhammad SAW when he preaches Islam among all the Arab leaders and she used to take notes. She was being empowered by Hazrat Muhammad SAW himself.
If we imagine her life journey, we will observe how struggling her life was. A little girl got abandoned, lost her home, her mother yet she stood strong in every situation because she knew that she was the chosen one. She was ZEHRA.
It was out prophet’s routine that he used to visit Hazrat Fatima R.A first whenever he returned from a journey. Similarly, once he met her after a long and tiring journey with dust on his attire. She had tears in her eyes watching her father in this condition. Prophet told her that we will spread Islam in every corner of the world with our struggles. And this made her smile in affirmation. She was the one who believed in action and not just words. She was an epitome of love. She always showed empathy towards her father.
Even her marriage was a match made in heaven. Yet she was asked about her proposal with Hazrat Ali R.A. although Hazrat Jibrael affirmed about this proposal. Still our Holy prophet Muhammad SAW asked her decision. This act teaches us firmly not to enforce marriages on daughters. This is what our religion teaches us. And this is the Sunnah of our prophet Muhammad SAW.
Throughout her life she supported her father and later, her husband. She was the one who wore clothes with 13-15 patches all over, kneading dough from her hands and still did Allah’s zikr and showed gratefulness.
Hazrat Ali R.A. had nothing when he was getting married with Hazrat Fatima R.A. Hazrat Muhammad SAW managed to built a small shelter for both of them. And that shelter was just Infront of Hazrat Muhammad SAW home. How thoughtful and loving of a father to kept her daughter Infront of him even after marriage. This level of love they had. Huzoor SAW himself narrated her Nikah. He asked Hazrat Ayesha R.A. to made her bride. And was so happy for her marriage.
Surah Kausar tells us that our prophet Muhammad SAW generation will continue with Hazrat Fatima R.A. And the world has witnessed this.
Hazrat Fatima R.A. was so enthusiast to follow Sunnahs. She was well versed about all rulings of Islam. She never took societal pressure on her. She kept calm and grateful throughout her life. She used to got tired of work load. Once she went to Hazrat Muhammad SAW with her husband Hazrat Ali R.A. to ask for a slave. But Prophet Muhammad SAW refused and told them that they were in this world for a much broader mission. Both Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Fatima returned and never asked for a slave later.
Whenever she pray, she used to do Dua for others. And whenever she was inquired about this, she replied “Dua pe sab se zyada haq doosro ka hai.” How thoughtful and kind hearted she was.
We talked about her relationship with her father, her husband, let’s discuss her relationship with her step mothers as well. It is narrated that once she got scolded by Hazrat Zainab R.A , she was provoked by people against her. But she replied “She is my mother. And she has all the rights to scold me. I will not behave with her at any cost. She can scold me as many times as needed. And I will remain respectful to her.” This is the wisdom and her beauty of her thoughts.
Once the family of Hazrat Ali R.A. was having food after whole day of fasting. Right then, a beggar arrived and asked for food. She gave her food to him. Upon asking her whole day being hungry, she replied “I am hungry for a day but he is hungry since 2 days.” This is how empath she was. A real role model for every woman.
She was the one who was the most closest with our prophet Muhammad SAW. The grief she had after Hazrat Muhammad SAW death could easily be seen on her face. It is said that she never smiled after him. And left the world most sooner to meet his father in Jannah.
When Hazrat Muhammad SAW was ill and he had that intuition of leaving this immortal world, he whispered in Hazrat Fatima’s ear when she visited him. She started crying after listening to him. Then he again whispered in her ear and she started smiling. Hazrat Ayesha R.A. was witnessing this. She asked her what she was told by Hazrat Muhammad SAW? But she didn’t disclosed the secret
Later she told that first Rasool Allah SAW told her that Allah is calling him and it is the time to leave this world. So she cried. Later he told her that she would be the first one who will meet him in Jannah. This made her smile.
Family of our prophet Muhammad SAW has given their sweat and blood for the preaching of righteous religion “ISLAM”. These sacrifices started from Hazrat Fatima R.A mother Hazrat Khadija R.A to her father Hazrat Muhammad SAW himself when he got injured at Taaif and later her own sons Hazrat Imam Hassan R.A and Hazrat Imam Hussain R.A. These sacrifices can never be forgotten till eternity.
She is a role model of every muslim. Her tawakkal on Allah, her firmness and following on Allah’s commands are so impressive. We all should follow her footsteps to walk on the righteous path of our Deen. May Allah guide us all. Aameen
